IDE for Embedded Development
CrossStep™ is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for embedded developers using TargetOS. Features include:
Windows port of GNU toolchain, including compiler, assembler, linker, and loader. Downloads and installs selected GNU tools during CrossStep installation.
High-level source debugger. Full featured GUI debugger provides excellent performance and reliability. Supports stack trace, register, breakpoint, expression watch, memory, local variable, source, console, and search windows.
In depth kernel awareness: View lists of tasks, semaphores, queues, etc. in status windows. See “software logic analyzer” view of service calls, interrupts, and context switches versus time, with ability to scroll and zoom. Scope source code window among tasks via task list drop menu.
Project Manager builds libraries and applications. Use a single click to automatically check file dependencies and time stamps, and then compile, assemble, and link files as needed to build the project. Optionally launches editor at appropriate line in case of a compiler error. Add or delete project files using graphical user interface.
On-Chip debug agent allows the debugger to communicate with the target board via JTAG and BDM. 'Talks' GDB's remote debug protocol and calls on-chip driver to control the target processor. Supports JTAG interfaces from Abatron, OpenOCD, and others.
TargetMon™, an advanced debug monitor, allows the debugger to communicate with the target board via Ethernet. Provides extremely fast downloads and responsiveness. Supports placing breakpoints in, and stepping through, interrupt service routines.
Used with ARM, ColdFire, Nios II, and Power Architecture processors.
Installs Vim but provides a customizable interface to any editor you select.
Fast easy-to-use Windows utility (His GrepShip™) for finding or replacing text strings in multiple files, supports regular expressions and wildcard file names, with optional confirmation before replacement. Double click a line in the match window to launch your editor on the associated file.
Offered as a subscription license for use on a single PC during the subscription term. Includes technical support, free access to all upgrades released during the subscription period, and answers to technical questions via email, phone, or fax.
Delivered as a standard Windows installer, installation is completely turnkey and includes an 'uninstall' option. CrossStep is a completely Windows integrated GUI environment.
Supports integration with PC-Lint, the award-winning static analysis program from Gimpel Software. Simple GUI interface for unit testing of single or selected files as well as 'deep lints' that include every project file.
Blunk Microsystems provides a range of high performance, royalty free embedded software modules that drop into the CrossStep environment without porting. These include state of the art file systems, networking products, a USB stack and a graphics library.
